Spirulina is a type of blue-green microalgae full of nutrients that give life: It contains proteins, vitamins, amino acids, beta carotene (provitamin A), enzymes, polysaccharides, chlorophyll, phycocyanin, iron, antioxidants, minerals and other elements that the body needs us. It contains three important vitamins of the B complex - B6, B12 and Folic acid - which help prevent heart diseases. Spirulina is a rich source of essential fatty acids (EPA) and GLA.

It is also an ideal source of Vitamin D. We need to get at least 800 IU to 1,000 IU (international units) of Vitamin D daily! This amount is of course available in Spirulina!
